Emerging opportunities for Social EnterprisePosted on August 7, 2017 in News
GROW was pleased to be part of the Geelong Small Business Festival event “Emerging Opportunities in Social Enterprise” on Wednesday August 9 2017.
Facilitated by Geoff Gourley of One10, around 45 participants learned more about how to start a Social Enterprise or purpose driven business and simple ways to alter your workplace practices to incorporate purpose and impact fundamentals thinking in your business model. We also heard from Martin Collins, the Director of Community and Social Innovation with the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources – and about the Victorian Government’s recently released Social Enterprise Strategy.
The Panel of current Social Enterprises was extremely informative:
- Georgie Knight, General Manager of Karingal Kommercial & St Laurence Business Enterprises
- Alex Houlston, Director of Energy for the People
- Rob Brown, CEO of Fruit2Work
